A National Park Service site in the heart of Greeneville preserving the home, tailor shop, and grave of America's 17th president — Andrew Johnson — who lived most of his life in Greene County. The visitor center museum presents Johnson's complicated legacy from frontier tailor to U.S. Senator to president through the Civil War and Reconstruction. Self-guided tours cover three separate historic properties within walking distance of each other. Free admission makes it an accessible Appalachian presidential heritage destination.
