Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site

A 10-acre state historic site in Johnson City preserving the home of two of early Tennessee's most significant political figures — John Tipton and Landon Carter Haynes — alongside a cave, spring house, and outbuildings from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The site interprets the turbulent early statehood era of Tennessee, the State of Franklin controversy, and Civil War political divisions through guided tours and seasonal living history events. One of the most historically dense small sites in the Tri-Cities region.
