The Museum of Appalachia is not a token heritage stop — it is a sprawling collection of cabins, churches, barns, and workshops that founder John Rice Irwin reassembled from across Southern Appalachia.
Plan three hours minimum; the on-site restaurant serves country lunch if you did not pack a cooler.
