The Sounds of Summer Concert Series brings live music to Downtown Center each Tuesday and Thursday evening during the months of June, July and August. What began in 1998 from an informal gathering of local musicians has grown into a much-anticipated community tradition that some might argue is the best part of summer. The concerts are free and typically feature bluegrass bands on Tuesdays and country/southern rock on Thursday evenings, weather permitting, from 7 to 9 p.m. As a special feature of this series, one evening a month is set aside for a tribute band that features the songs of some of our favorite artists.

The DCB started when a group of friends got together to jam in Dan Carty's basement. Kris Rasnake named the band when he booked the first show and the rest is history! The group is based in Blountville, TN.
