Town of Abingdon Independence Day celebration at the Meadows Sports Complex with fireworks returning to Veterans Memorial Park. 6pm: bike parade staging and carnival games (dunking booth, ring toss, three-legged race, foam pit, potato sack race). 6:30pm: patriotic bike parade on the Virginia Creeper Trail with drum & fife. 7pm: watermelon eating contest. 7:30–9:30pm: live music and beach party with The Tams. 9:30pm: patriotic performance and fireworks display.
