Natural Dam State Natural Area

📍 Regional

A rare geological curiosity in Hawkins County where the Clinch River flows over a broad natural dam of exposed limestone bedrock, creating a wide shallow ford with rushing water features that look almost human-engineered. The site is recognized as a Tennessee State Natural Area for its geological significance. A short trail from a small parking area leads to overlooks above the natural limestone shelf. A peaceful and unusual riverside picnic and photography destination.
