The 1818 home of Tusculum University's founding president Samuel Doak, a log-and-frame Federal-style house on the Tusculum campus that served as the center of frontier education and Presbyterian ministry in early Tennessee. The museum interprets Doak's role in bringing education and religious community organization to the Appalachian frontier. The adjacent 1818 college building and the Old Graveyard create a remarkably intact early 19th-century academic village. A National Historic Landmark and required visit for Tennessee history enthusiasts.
