The Tweetsie Trail is a beloved 10.2-mile paved rail trail converting the historic East Tennessee & Western North Carolina Railroad corridor into a premier multi-use greenway connecting Elizabethton to Johnson City. The flat, well-maintained trail is ideal for cycling, jogging, walking, and skating, passing through farmland, forest, and riverside scenery. The trail crosses several scenic bridges over the Doe River and its tributaries. The entire route is ADA accessible and has become one of the region's most popular outdoor recreation assets since opening in 2016.
