Students and staff of Grace Studio of Motion and Dance perform "An Appalachian Christmas, A Nutcracker Story" at the Paramount on Sunday, December 20. There are two shows: 2:30 PM (doors 1:30 PM) and 6:30 PM (doors 5:30 PM). Tickets are $15.
This new take on The Nutcracker starts at a Christmas party in a family cabin, then follows Clara on a journey through the Appalachian Mountains, along the Crooked Road through coal country, Whitetop, the Blue Ridge and fields of wildflowers, where she meets Mother Nature and her woodland animals. The show mixes ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical and musical theater.
Buy tickets at paramountbristol.org or the Paramount box office only, since third-party resale tickets are not honored.
