Elizabethton Parks and Recreation's free synthetic-ice rink returns to Edwards Island Park for the 2026 season, presented by Carter County Bank. The rink is under the park pavilion at 210 N. Riverside Drive. Admission and skate rentals are free.

Preview night is Saturday, November 21, immediately after the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, with skating until 8:00 PM. The official season opens Friday, December 4. Skating continues every Friday through Sunday in December. Regular hours are Fridays 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Saturdays 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Sundays 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. On Saturday, December 12, the rink closes at 5:00 PM for the Christmas Parade.

Sessions are first come, first served, with no reservations. All skaters must sign a waiver before skating. Waivers are available when skates are checked out. Synthetic ice does not require freezing temperatures.
