The Sounds of Summer Concert Series brings live music to Downtown Center each Tuesday and Thursday evening during the months of June, July and August. What began in 1998 from an informal gathering of local musicians has grown into a much-anticipated community tradition that some might argue is the best part of summer. The concerts are free and typically feature bluegrass bands on Tuesdays and country/southern rock on Thursday evenings, weather permitting, from 7 to 9 p.m. As a special feature of this series, one evening a month is set aside for a tribute band that features the songs of some of our favorite artists.

Marques Puckett & 8 Second Ride is a dynamic country / southern rock band hailing from East Tennessee, captivating audiences with their high-energy performances and infectious enthusiasm. Known for their interactive stage shows, MP8SR keeps fans on their toes, blending country / rock with unexpected twists and engaging antics. Each performance is a unique experience, making every concert a memorable one.
