The Cherokee National Forest's Watauga Ranger District hosts this beloved annual wildflower celebration with ranger-led hikes, wildflower identification workshops, and photography clinics on trails across the forest where spring ephemerals — trillium, bloodroot, trout lily, wild ginger — carpet the forest floor. The event connects nature enthusiasts with knowledgeable forest rangers who bring the botanical richness of the southern Appalachians to life. Multiple difficulty levels of guided hikes accommodate all participants. Registration is free but required as group sizes are limited.
