Trail Days is Damascus's beloved annual celebration of the Appalachian Trail and the hiking community, drawing thousands of current and former AT thru-hikers back to the 'friendliest town on the AT' for a long weekend of hiking events, live music, gear vendors, and the famous Hiker Parade. Damascus sits at the intersection of the AT and Virginia Creeper Trail, making it a crossroads for the outdoor community. The tent cities that spring up around town during Trail Days create a genuinely festive, countercultural atmosphere. One of the most unique outdoor community events anywhere in the Appalachians.
